As decided by the Government of Pakistan, the Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in Brazil today also as a Day of expressing Solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Prominent journalists, media personalities, diplomats, representatives of think tanks and civil society, academicians and the resident Pakistanis joined the Embassy officials in collectively observing the Defence Day of Pakistan while expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir.


Defence Attaché Brig Mohammad Yousaf highlighted the historical significance of the Defence Day of Pakistan and paid rich tribute to the heroes and martyrs of 1965 war.

First Secretary Azeem Ullah Cheema highlighted the massive human rights violations in IoK at the hands of Indian occupied forces.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Ambassador Najm us Saqib expressed complete solidarity with the brotherly people of Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of India’s month old continuing brutal lockdown and curfew in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Highlighting India’s illegal, audacious and provocative actions since 5 August, he stated that Pakistan would remain steadfast in extending its full support to the just cause of Kashmir till the last. The Ambassador also urged the International Community to persuade India to fulfil its commitments made in the United Nation Security Council’s resolutions and stop violating all principles of human rights and humanitarian law.

Earlier, Muslim brothers and Embassy personnel offered special prayers during Namaz-e-Jum’a for a bright future of the people of Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
